Every day, our system processes hundreds of hours of video content, helping us to improve and expand the way people consume online media to make more of the web’s video content accessible. We’re also very excited to have a few brand-new products in our pipeline!

Our platform is beyond a simple web application and has a variety of interesting components including multiple data stores, and asynchronous batch processing. As we’ve experienced rapid growth recently, there is lots of opportunity to improve the platform’s reliability, performance, and observability. As a DevOps engineer joining our team, you’ll be making a big impact while working closely with a senior DevOps engineer and the rest of the engineering team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve infrastructure, including AWS, Docker, Chef, Ruby on Rails, MySQL, MongoDB, CircleCI
• Improve tooling, including:
  • Containerization of existing and new processes
  • CI/CD pipeline
  • Improvements to our AWS infrastructure
  • Monitoring and alerting

• Work closely with the development team to triage and resolve production incidents
• Answer security questions from our customers while managing and improving overall security

Position Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or related role (more experience certainly welcome!)
• Experience with automated provisioning and configuration management (e.g. Chef and CloudFormation ideal, but Ansible or Puppet acceptable)
• Experience working with Cloud services (especially AWS, though Azure and GCP experience also a plus)
• Strong knowledge of the Unix/Linux operating system, command line, and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of at least one high-level scripting language (Ruby and Python preferred, but Perl and others acceptable)
• Knowledgeable about networking, web applications, batch processing, and security
