MachineMetrics is looking for a talented DevOps Engineer! This position may be based out of Boston, MA or Northampton, MA!

About You:

As a growing startup, we are seeking an individual who displays the attitude, aptitude, and amplitude to not only get the job done but grow within the company.

You ideally have some engineering experience in networks, database security, e.g., web security, security protocols. You love working with people and helping them seek solutions. Are you ready to learn more? 

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Develop and own best practices and processes around infrastructure as code (IaaC) to make existing applications and data processing pipeline systems replicable for staging environments, disaster recovery, and single-tenancy use cases.
  • With the guidance of the Senior DevOps Engineer, implement and maintain corporate security policies to create secure on-premise and cloud networks, systems, and applications; backups, and disaster recovery plans
  • Partner with colleagues on initiatives related to authentication, authorization, and encryption solutions
  • Perform vulnerability testing, risk analyses, and security assessments
  • Collaboratively develop and maintain security and disaster incident response plans
  • Support changes in software, hardware, facilities, telecommunications, and user needs
  • Analyze and advise on new security technologies and conformance; deliver technical reports as needed
  • Stay abreast of modifications in legal, technical and regulatory areas that affect information security 
  • Be a champion of our Core Values 

What You’ll Have:

  • DevOps or software engineering experience; Linux and/or Cloud or software development, with a passion to own Security
  • Some experience with system orchestration tools like Ansible, Salt, Puppet, Chef, CloudFormation
  • Cloud computing experience e.g., AWS (preferred), Azure, Google etc.
  • Two plus years using programming languages including JavaScript, Bash, Python
  • A naturally curious personality; flexible; ability to work in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with code repositories such as Github, Bitbucket.
