As Building Engines continues to innovate new technology for the Commercial Real Estate property management market we’re looking for a DevOps Engineer who loves to design and implement the production environments for new products. These are business-oriented webapps with multiplatform mobile clients.  In this role, you’ll participate in technology selection and drive the best practices throughout our teams.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and operate a world-class AWS environment for our new SaaS products
  • Ensure proper scaling of our environment to our growth
  • Drive security best practices in operations and back through development
  • Work with product teams to plan and deliver new functionality to production
  •  Automate all deployment, monitoring, response and scaling procedures
  • Train other engineers into a DevOps mindset

Education, Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years operating public-cloud, SaaS products
  •  3+ years working with AWS
  • Experience working with platform services, not only infrastructure
  • Experience using containerization
  • Orchestration and configuration management toolset experience
  • Production experience with Python/Django apps (or comparable)
  • Strong command of at least 1 scripting language
  • Comfortable in linux environment
  • Knowledge of security best practices and tooling
  • Ability to communicate well with non-engineering colleagues
  • Experience working with or on Agile Scrum teams
  • Bachelor’s Computer Science degree
  • Experience running J2EE applications
  • Familiarity with Jenkins
  • Experience operating microservices
