We are seeking a Design Engineer with a well-rounded background in product design, engineering, and a passion for bringing concepts to fruitition. This role will be focused on designing new vehicles and features for Superpedestrian including the evaluation of design concepts, rapid prototyping to validate form/fit/function, and being a voice in defining future development efforts.


What you'll do:

-Drive development of new vehicles and features from conceptualization to manufacturing

-Produce and evaluate high quality detailed concepts for initial engineering feasibility, identification of material options, and propose manufacturing processes

-Analyze CMF (Color-Material-Finish) documentation to produce engineering requirements, provide feedback regarding finishing and post-processing techniques, and review of manufacturing feasibility

-Rapidly iterate upon concepts using using various prototyping techniques

-Interact with customers to understand problem space and improve user experience 


What we're looking for:

-Established track record for driving product concept creation and evaluation

-Experience in designing for a variety of manufacturing methods – including plastic injection molding, die casting, extrusions

-Skilled in material identification, evaluation, and tradeoff management

-Experience creating prototypes to display & evaluate aesthetic direction and/or functionality 

-5+ years of experience 3D modeling in SolidWorks

-Ability to run initial feasibility and strength studies (mold flow, part thickness, FEA) (Preferred)

-Proficient in rendering and design tools: Keyshot, InVision (Preferred)

-Preferred previous experience with electric vehicles or bikes, as well as experience with electronics/IoT integration
