Controls Engineer

About You:
- You like to solve problems and build processes.
- You are familiar with what it takes to digitally transform a factory, and you are excited to apply those skills across a range of industries.
- You appreciate jobs that allow you to grow your breadth of knowledge, and thrive working cross functionally.
- You are a good communicator and able to speak ‘full-stack’ from Engineering to C-Suite. You understand that different roles within that stack have different needs and are able to use language that suits them.
What skills do I need?
- 1-3 years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering.
- Specific proficiency in machine connectivity and data management:
- By way of direct PLC communication (Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, AB, etc.)
- Using 3rd party data gateways, both physical (moxa, advantech, etc.) and software (Kepware)
- High Availability system design
- Peripheral selection and evaluation (power supplies, sensors, encoders, andon, etc.)
- Strong project management and communication skills
- Willingness to travel to customer sites 20-30% of the time.
Bonus Skills
- Functional knowledge of any programming language
- Experience with network architecture
- Experience with MES and/or ERP system administration
Key Responsibilities:
- You will work closely with Sales Engineering and Customer Operations in pre-sales to provide guidance from a technical perspective.
- Own the delivery of enterprise level machine connectivity deployments.
- Work with the customer to identify critical process data.
- Build logical and scalable data structures
- Develop connectivity plans for different sets of machines
- Deploy and train others to maintain systems.
- Develop functional and scalable best practices for industry 4.0 initiatives at customer sites all over the world.
