Chief Physical Plant Engineer
Under general supervision, operate and maintain physical boiler plant equipment, including boiler appurtenances, auxiliary equipment and machinery in accordance with required codes. Operate and maintain electric chiller plant, pressure vessels, cooling towers, emergency generators, safety devices and related ancillary equipment. Maintain underground fuel storage tanks in accordance with required codes. Maintain chilled water, hot water and steam distribution systems from physical plant to air handlers. Maintain chemical treatment programs for all systems. Perform boiler safety device testing, corrective and preventive maintenance and document using work orders. Assist other departments and event set ups as required. Requires valid driver?s license, MA 2rd Class Engineers License (MA), NIULPE 2rd Class Power Engineering License (CT). Pipe and Gas fitters License and Oil Burners Technician License preferred. Chief Physical Plant Engineer maintains all state and federal log books needed for reporting, operates equipment in a safe and legal manor and oversees fireman to be sure we have?proper?boiler coverage.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years? boilers operator?s experience
- Minimum of a 2nd Class Engineers License.
- Continuous education requirements must be kept up to date
- Operation of high pressure boilers
- Knowledge of emergency shutdown procedures for the power plants
- Ability to learn computers
- Ability to work independently and with others in a teamwork environment with minimal direction.
- Competent in basic mathematics
- Mechanical/technical aptitude
- Knowledge and understanding of company policies and procedures
