Job Description 

The Energy Efficiency Specialist will have a strong background in energy management, project management, and technical expertise in power generation and combined heat and power (CHP) systems. This role involves leading initiatives to optimize energy consumption, improve sustainability practices, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, with a specific focus on the operation of our new cogeneration plant. 

As a Utilities System Engineer, you will be responsible for

  • Work on developing innovative solutions for improve energy efficiency and optimize utilities usage, promoting and implementing sustainable energy practices and technologies. 

  • Conducting energy audits, monitoring energy consumption, addressing energy inefficiencies and implementing optimization techniques. 

  • Planning and evaluating through feasibility studies energy-related projects, ensuring they align with organizational goals. 

  • Analyzing energy consumption data to identify improvement opportunities and track performance metrics. 

  • Providing technical support for power generation, CHP systems, HVAC systems, lighting, and building automation systems. 

  • Collaborating with various stakeholders and presenting findings effectively, leading initiatives that drive continuous improvement in energy efficiency. 

  • Monitoring: Implementing continuous monitoring procedures for technical KPIs of the new plant. 

  • Acting as the interface between Facility Energy Management, Facility Operations/Maintenance, and Global Service functions at the Cogeneration Plant.

  • Conducting preliminary analysis of issues, communicating findings to relevant functions, and ensuring resolution. 

  • Managing resources and costs, ensuring budget compliance and proposing efficiency improvements. 

To be successful in this role you will: 

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field. 

  • Have a proven industrial experience in technical roles related to turbomachinery and cogeneration plants. 

  • Possess knowledge of combined cycle cogeneration plants (Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, auxiliaries, recovery boilers, steam cycle, hot water cycle), plant supervision systems, and industrial automation. 

  •  Understand mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. 

  • Be knowledgeable about safety regulations and compliance standards (e.g., PED, ATEX). 

  • Have experience in coordinating on-site activities and managing maintenance operations. Working effectively within cross-functional teams to achieve energy goals. 

  • Be capable of managing resources and costs, ensuring budget compliance and proposing efficiency improvements. 

  •  Be proficient in English and Italian, both spoken and written.
