At Vicarious Surgical we are revolutionizing the field of surgical robotics. We seek to improve the lives of patients, enhance the ability of surgeons, and expand worldwide access to high quality care through the use of surgical robotics. We have reimagined what is possible by building a human-like surgical robot and combining it with the world’s first virtual reality surgical camera to allow surgeons to perform minimally invasive surgery with the ease of an open procedure.

We are looking to hire a talented UI / UX designer to work on our software team to design the look and feel of our product’s interfaces. You will work closely with the VR software developers and industrial design team. Your main responsibility is designing graphics and interactions in VR that make our product easy and delightful to use. You will be breaking ground in a wholly unexplored space, and you’ll also be creating novel design motifs that will shape the industry, all while being mindful that our target users may have never experienced VR before.

Responsibilities

• Designing the look and feel of our product’s software
• Developing graphics and interactions in VR
• Researching the field to understand surgeons’ expectations of an interface
• Applying feedback from surgeons and developers
• Improving the workflow of users through our system
• Keeping up to date with best practices and security concerns

About You

• Significant work experience as a UI / UX designer
• Significant experience with VR

Nice-to-Have

• Robotic systems experience
• Medical device & IEC 62366 experience
• Familiarity with Unity
