At TripAdvisor, you will be part of a dynamic, fun, and energetic team where you can immediately make meaningful contributions.
What’s the job?
Ready to play an important role at TripAdvisor, the world's largest travel site? We’re looking for a visual designer to make immediate, meaningful contributions in support of our B2C and B2B products for restaurants.
You’ll be part of a dynamic and collaborative environment that fuses the speed, innovation and excitement of a start-up with the stability and resources of a global industry leader. Serving as a bridge between our in-house brand creative team and fast-growing restaurants group, you’ll leverage your passion for making design decisions that drive consumer and owner behaviors on a wide range of projects spanning print and digital experiences.
In short: Awesome brand. Global audience. Collaborative environment. Cool teams. Free lunches. Dog-friendly. Design & influence for a living.
What you’ll do
- Work with the restaurants team to maintain a consistent aesthetic across all marketing materials and touchpoints, including proposal templates, emails, digital ads, landing pages, social media images, infographics, videos and more.
- Partner with the marketing team to refine project strategies and translate them into designs.
- Present concepts and campaigns to senior executives, and iterate based on direct cross-functional feedback.
- Drive creative projects from concept through execution, and align all materials with marketing and product direction.
- Articulate conceptual and directional choices.
- Collaborate with our Product, Sales, Marketing, Engineering and other teams to generate concepts — and bring them to life.
- Work with the restaurant group’s product design team on the consumer-facing TripAdvisor website and app, as well as on the owner-facing Management Center microsite and web app
What we’re looking for
- 2-5 years’ experience in the creative field.
- A “do-er” who’s excited about working in a fast-paced environment with the chance to work with top collaborators in different disciplines.
- Someone who’s curious about the restaurant industry — and has a passion for food.
- Experience with direct response campaigns, including (but not limited to) digital ads, email and social media.
- You should have a perspective on integrating brand tone/voice into the work you create, and a comfort level in working with copywriters.
- You should be a self-starter who’s able to identify opportunities for improving processes and deliverables.
- You must be on top of the latest design and technology trends, and have a solid understanding of design principles and best practices (e.g. typography, color theory, layout, information hierarchy).
- Portfolio is required, with at least 3-5 examples of related work (link to online portfolio preferred).
- Strong technical skills, including
- Adobe CC (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
- Sketch and prepared plugins (Zeplin and Craft)
- Prototyping software, such as Keynote, InVision, Flinto, Principal, etc.
- Hand-rendering skills (sketching & paper prototyping)
- Video and motion design chops in Premiere & After Effects is a huge plus
- Illustration skills also a huge plus
