An Insider's view of Numerated

What's something quirky about your company?

We have a lot of strong communicators and that’s created a very special environment. Everyone has a sense of unity and I think that makes Numerated as much a community as workplace. We mostly work from home, and have a lot of casual slack channels, for instance, where you can get to meet new coworkers with similar interests.

Andrew

Data Integration Engineer

What does your typical day look like?

Since we work from home, I get to sleep in. Then I start my mornings by checking my calendar and slack before our morning team standup—its later because we have people all over the country. It’s a great atmosphere and way to set the day’s agenda. Beyond that, a day’s work is typically filled with an equal part collaboration and personal work.

Aaron

Senior Engineer

How does the company support your career growth?

As I grew with the company, so did my responsibilities. I've been able to build features from the ground up, conduct interviews, and lead a team. Numerated also pays for an O’Reilly subscription for the engineers and I've been using it to study for my AWS certification. I've never felt blocked, but always supported.

Guillaume

Senior Software Engineer

How would you describe the company’s work-life balance?

Work life balance is key to what we do. The problems we’re solving are interesting and challenging and we’ve got a great team of really smart people working on them. With that comes a degree of independence that’s important. It allows you to push forward your own ideas. People work hard, but at the end of the day you’re expected to unplug.
