Time Series Introduction

The Automated Time Series Domain at DataRobot makes sophisticated time series models easy to build, helping organizations of all sizes forecast things like sales volume, product demand by SKU, staffing, inventory, and a host of financial applications. In this role, you’ll help design solutions for our users. These solutions will allow teams of data scientists, engineers and business analysts to interact with data and build models to generate forecasts for the most important parts of their businesses.

What you’ll do

  • You’ll help build a library of extensible UI patterns and interaction guidelines to solidify/improve user experience and accelerate delivery from concept to code
  • You’ll interact directly with project stakeholders to collect design feedback and iterate (a lot) on mockups then ultimately deliver pixel-perfect, hi-fidelity, annotated designs
  • You’ll work with product managers and other designers to ensure that user interaction in any given design is efficient, understandable, and falls within the realities of technical constraint
  • You’ll provide design feedback and guidance to engineers and other designers throughout the process on visual design and interaction execution
  • You’ll apply your design expertise to help build team-focused processes that boost productivity, reduce waste, improve communication, and aid in our ability to scale
  • You’ll help to solve previously unsolved problems within a new, hot, and growing market
  • You’ll learn from functional groups with a vast array of backgrounds in data science, software engineering, product management, marketing, sales, business, and of course design
  • You’ll work with cutting-edge technology, world-class teammates, and learn how organizations are leveraging the power of machine learning and AI across nearly every vertical

What will make you successful

  • You have plenty of visual and interaction design experience, you’ve delivered high-volume, high-profile or award-winning products; preferably in enterprise SaaS
  • You have diverse experience and deep knowledge/skill designing complex applications focused on data, decision-making, and/or exploration
  • You’re a pragmatic, systematic, user-first thinker and problem solver with a passion for turning complex ideas into something simple, comprehensible, and pleasant
  • You’re passionate about pushing the boundaries of conventional visual design but you’re able to recognize valuable, conventional user patterns and utilize them within your work
  • You’re proficient in a variety of methods to convey ideas, collaborate, and collect feedback (e.g. storyboards, wireframes, prototypes, etc)
  • You’ve demonstrated the ability to create and maintain a system of UI resources for designers and engineers
  • You are comfortable iterating through quick low-fidelity sketches into amazing hi-fidelity mockups on tight schedules
  • You have your fingers on the pulse of best practices in typography, color theory, iconography and data visualization
  • You have a strong knowledge of visual and technical accessibility and how it affects your designs
  • You’re organized, self-directed, efficient, and able to manage multiple complex projects in a timely manner
  • You have expertise with modern design suites like Figma, Sketch, Framer, InVision, Adobe CC, but you also know when and how to use a whiteboard or a sketch pad
  • You have strong familiarity with web technologies and their impact on the feasibility of design solutions; you might even have some coding experience (not required)
  • You have experience working with and visualizing data; data science and machine learning knowledge is a huge plus
  • You have examples of high-quality, diverse, dazzling work that demonstrate the above
