About the Senior Experience Designer position

We are looking for a Senior Experience Designer with professional, interactive design experience. The ideal applicant must be a creative thinker who is able to work independently and collaboratively with other members of an Experience Design (XD) team to ensure designs are consistent with Verndale’s high standards for aesthetics and usability. The work requires a strong understanding of user-centric, web design principles with a consistent focus on user experience (UX) best practices. Ideal candidates will have experience with Responsive Web Design (RWD) and the ability to design web sites for mobile use.

Responsibilities

• Design engaging and high quality, responsive web solutions
• Communicate ideas and concepts clearly and concisely to clients and internal team.
• Work closely with Project and XD teams to understand and translate requirements
• Maintain current, relevant knowledge of user design trends, standards and techniques
• Develop and maintain visual design libraries and UX pattern libraries for consistent design
• Effectively communicate with developers and other project team members through implementation phase to realize design vision
• Act as resource and thought partner to colleagues
• Assist with internal marketing and branding initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in graphic design, visual communication, or related field
• Responsive and mobile web design experience required
• Strong web design/visual design, layout, and typography skills with excellent attention to detail
• Affinity for current industry developments, design trends, and technologies
• Strong knowledge of UX processes and methodologies including responsive web design
• Ability to react well to design direction and feedback from creative director and clients
• Proficient to expert in both Sketch and Adobe’s Creative Suite
• Experience with mobile design a plus
• 6-8+ years’ designing experiences online
• Online Portfolio of work required
