There is no hotter field right now than Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. DataRobot is at the forefront of this trend, having established market leadership in a category called Automated Machine Learning. We’re Boston-based and we’ve raised $225M to fuel our expansive ambitions. We are growing quickly and need talented, motivated people to join the team. Our software helps organizations gain a competitive edge with AI. We’ve transformed how data science is done at the highest level, and we’re looking to extend that disruption.

What you’ll do
  • You’ll work hands-on to create sleek and simple visual solutions for complex problems involving data visualization and heavy technical information
  • You’ll help build a library of extensible UI patterns and interaction guidelines to solidify/improve user experience and accelerate delivery from concept to code
  • You’ll interact directly with project stakeholders to collect design feedback and iterate (a lot) on mockups then ultimately deliver pixel-perfect, hi-fidelity, annotated designs
  • You’ll work with product managers and other designers to ensure that user interaction in any given design is efficient, understandable, and falls within a technical reality
  • You’ll provide design feedback and guidance to engineers and other designers throughout the process on visual design and interaction execution
  • You’ll apply your design expertise to help build team-focused processes that boost productivity, reduce waste, improve communication, and aid in our ability to scale
  • You’ll help to solve previously unsolved problems within a new, hot, and growing market
  • You’ll learn from functional groups with a vast array of backgrounds in data science, software engineering, product management, marketing, sales, and business
  • You’ll work with cutting-edge technology, world-class teammates, and learn how organizations are using their data across nearly every vertical
What will make you successful
  • You have 5+ years of digital interface visual and interaction design experience in delivering high-volume, high-profile or award-winning products; preferably experience with enterprise SaaS
  • You have diverse experience and deep knowledge/skill designing complex applications focused on data, decision-making, and/or exploration
  • You’re a pragmatic, systematic, user-first thinker and problem solver with a passion for turning complex ideas into something simple, comprehensible, and pleasant
  • You’re passionate about pushing the boundaries of conventional visual design but you’re able to recognize valuable user patterns and utilize them within your work
  • You’re proficient in a variety of methods to convey ideas, collaborate, and collect feedback (e.g. storyboards, wireframes, prototypes, etc)
  • You’ve demonstrated the ability to create and maintain a system of UI resources for designers and engineers
  • You are comfortable iterating through quick low-fidelity sketches to amazing hi-fidelity mockups on tight schedules
  • You have your fingers on the pulse of best practices in typography, color theory, iconography and data visualization
  • You have a strong knowledge of visual and technical accessibility and how it affects your designs
  • You’re organized, self-directed, efficient, and able to manage multiple complex projects in a timely manner
  • You have expertise with modern design suites like Figma, Sketch, Framer, InVision, Adobe CC, but you also know when and how to use a whiteboard or a sketch pad
  • You have strong familiarity with web technologies and their impact on the feasibility of design solutions; you’ll preferably have some coding experience
  • You have experience working with and visualizing data; data science and machine learning knowledge is a huge plus
  • You have examples of high-quality, diverse, dazzling work that demonstrate the above
