Our fast-growing startup is looking for a passionate and experienced Product Designer who has passion for design highly usable and intuitive user experiences and believes that doing well and doing good are not mutually exclusive. If you can partner with marketing and engineering to create next generation mobile and web-based applications that are pleasant and easy to use and also pleasing to the eye, then we'd like to hear from you.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Creative, you’ll collaborate with engineers and product owners to build custom apps for some of the world’s largest companies, translating business goals into engaging easy-to-use products. In addition, you’ll be making apps that make a difference – helping to solve real-world problems, such as distracted driving – a growing problem that is now the leading cause of road-related accidents each year.

As the first permanent hire in this role, you’ll play a key-role in defining and scaling our capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed, high-fidelity designs from your wireframes and product requirements, pattern and component libraries, style guides, and other design documentation.
  • Participate in product design team meetings and work sessions.
  • Periodically support the marketing design team on design projects, primarily related to web site design.
  • Work with developers throughout the agile project lifecycle.
  • Be able to present and support design decisions, based on your knowledge of visual design, UI and UX design trends, personas, and product understanding.

Your skills and experience:

  • Online portfolio available for review during the interview process, containing work samples of deployed mobile applications.
  • Hands-on experience creating UI designs for web applications.
  • A mastery of Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, and/or equivalent software.
  • Understanding of basic front-end languages: HTML5, CSS3, Javascript.
  • Experience with both Android and iOS
  • Experience working in an agile/scrum development process.
  • Team player who recognizes that design feedback is part of the process.
