The Brand team is a friendly group of talented designers on a mission to create visual experiences that developers love. The team is responsible for fueling our world-class brand identity with eye-catching, beautiful, original work that consistently delights and inspires the developer audience to grow with DigitalOcean. We are passionate about simplifying complex concepts into elegant, on-brand customer experiences while always looking for creative ways to evolve our brand identity to the next level. The Brand team is responsible for maintaining consistent quality across all design, for both internal and external assets.

We are looking for a Senior Designer that will be responsible for brand design projects – someone who will understand stakeholder business and communication goals, and translate them into unique creative solutions. This person will take an active, hands-on role in leading ideation with team members, providing art direction to other designers, and working with program managers and other team members to implement designs effectively. This important role requires broad knowledge and advanced skills in visual design, typography, illustration, motion design and production.

Qualified candidates will share our belief that design is as much about behavior and emotion as it is about utility and ease of use. Senior Designers are problem solvers that can take limited direction, proactively seek out answers to critical questions and synthesize multiple information streams into actionable and effective work. They will elevate and affirm the brand with every creation and thrive in our transparent, collaborative environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Projects

• Own design projects from brief through concept and iteration to production
• Work on multiple projects in different environments, ensuring that all touchpoints and interactions with DigitalOcean are consistent and align with our brand/website strategy
• Create assets for web, print, events and swag/collateral using expertise in visual design

Collaboration/process

• Lead stakeholders and teammates through productive brief creation, efficiently utilizing available information
• Lead cross-functional meetings with key stakeholders, driving conversations and effectively capturing often-nuanced feedback and conflicting ideas into action items
• Embrace flexibility in working with a full spectrum of project types and timelines, from well planned large scale halo pieces to urgent churn-and-burn production work

Brand vision

• Inform DigitalOcean’s brand as a visual creative lead, across all regions and for every deliverable
• Contribute to and maintain content for DigitalOcean's style guides and brand guidelines
• Produce the best possible outcomes for assets and deliverables for all initiatives using expertise and fluency in all required design and animation software
