Instructional Designer- Growth Driven Design

HubSpot Academy is on a mission to transform the way the world does business, offering a variety of educational and inspirational content — from blog posts to lessons and full certification courses. HubSpot Academy’s free content provides valuable training for people all over the world, and it generates new customers for the business and delights our existing ones.

You’ll be responsible for educating and inspiring our customers and the industry at large. Professors teach the theory and practice of their subject matter with blended learning content formats, including videos, customer stories, examples, live broadcasts, presentations, and office hours.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining subject matter knowledge on all things Growth-Driven Design. This includes but is not limited to - Web design, UX design, agile/SCRUM, CRO, UX research, growth hacking process, etc. and the HubSpot software, including the HubSpot CMS. You’ll need to keep your HubSpot product expertise at a very high level and understand how users/customers interact with the product to achieve their goals. You should use the HubSpot product on a regular basis and be in constant communication with HubSpot’s product/development team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Update and own the Growth-Driven Design and HubSpot CMS for marketers training courses, certifications, and live events.
  • Monitor consistency and quality of Academy assets by editing and proofreading web design, optimization, and CMS content (created by Academy team members, others in the company, and external contributors).
  • Integrate and ensure consistent messaging, style, and voice across all content pieces with regard to the designer danny persona.
  • Write copy for various assets, such as website pages, emails, and the user interface.
  • Work collaboratively with Design Assets, Design Tools, Conversion Tools, Editor Platform, and Agency Partner teams to tightly couple the Academy and Product teams.
  • Manage and grow the GDD community (including Slack and live events), GrowthDrivenDesign.com, and GDD blog. Monitor, participate and grow the design forum on community.hubspot.com
  • Contribute regularly to designers.hubspot.com by writing blog post’s, Video’s, knowledge articles and how to’s.
  • Share the ownership of the strategy, planning and execution of developer day(s).

IDEAL CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of five years professional experience.
  • Agency experience
  • Proven ability to manage large and small content projects, bringing them to completion with speed, accuracy, and quality.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • An incredible attention to detail — spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors are your enemy.
  • A portfolio of educational long- and short-form content.
  • Bonus - General knowledge of HTML, CSS and JS.
