Product Design Lead

The products we build use visualizations to tell stories of consumer preferences, sales performance, risk, fraud, and investment performance
This is a both a strategic and execution role with interaction from the C-levels to on-the-ground teams and reports directly to the Head of Data Analytics.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the User Research/Design Team: One of the first key accountabilities would be leading the existing team of user designers/researchers that can execute on study, design and drive impact.
- Leverage prior experience leading design initiatives for developing reports and dashboards in MicroStrategy to support data analytics solutions focused on MicroStrategy technology
- Data Product leader setting product vision, strategy, and roadmap, for MicroStrategy applications & platforms, custom full-stack, UX design, user testing and execution.
- Evangelize our approach to design and partner across teams and stakeholders to educate and successfully deliver
- Establishing metrics, incorporating quantitative data into UX initiatives to demonstrate the impact of UX involvement
- Collaborate with designers and engineers to help manage design assets and facilitate the growth of design systems, patterns, and assets libraries. Produce and contribute reusable designs that conform and enhance our design language
- Work closely with product owners, BI developers, engineers, and data scientists to explore the data and collaborate on creating information architecture/storyboard, and advanced visualizations to convey analytic insights that end users value
- Drive organizational change, championing a human-centered approach and supporting the growth of that perspective across interdisciplinary team members
- Design MicroStrategy applications as well as custom, web-based business intelligence and data visualization applications that support decision-making.
- The leader will be ultimately responsible for data related to usability and user satisfaction (CSAT, SUS, ...) across all UX team projects, manage and report the results to leadership on a regular basis.
- Actively perform research on the latest trends, and emerging technologies to anticipate and prepare MM employees for the future
Skills and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is required
- 7+ years with direct experience in developing dashboards, reporting systems, and data-intensive applications using Business Intelligence tools (i.e., Tableau, MicroStrategy, Qlik Sense, etc)
- 5+ years with direct experience in developing dashboards, reporting systems, and data-intensive applications in MicroStrategy
- Prior experience in leading a team and/or building competency in Design Thinking for an organization.
- Experienced in leading design thinking/research projects – from strategy to execution, including planning, conducting, and communicating the findings from user research for products and services.Familiar with a variety of user research methods.
- People-focused design mentality: Experience planning and conducting both quantitative and qualitative user research at all stages of product development
- Strong communication skills with ability to articulate and optimize design based on the value to the user and the business
