THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Communications and Marketing Department is the keeper of ActBlue’s brand and mission. Design plays a key role in keeping the brand modern, on-trend, and consistent. It's our job to help tell the story of the small-dollar donor movement and make sure that donors and campaigns view us as trustworthy experts.
The Graphic Designer will assist with creative projects here at ActBlue, including design of print and digital advertisements, social media, blog graphics, email graphics, and presentations, as well as ideation & creation of marketing and support materials used at conferences and events.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Work with core marketing sub-teams, including social media, content, email, and data teams, to create shareable assets that are visually on-brand and on-message.
- Create physical and digital materials that are consistent with brand standards.
- Brainstorm and pitch your ideas effectively in a highly collaborative environment.
- Assist in the production of promotional materials for events and conferences.
- Work with the Communications and Marketing team to create complex reports for campaigns and organizations on a quarterly basis.
- Edit photography in Photoshop and color correct in Lightroom.
- Collaborate with other departments at ActBlue on an ad hoc basis.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Experience in a full-time design role or dedicated contract work, with a clear understanding of project management workflows and deadlines as well as an ability to adapt to a campaign or brand style with ease
- Ability to work in digital and print environments seamlessly while adhering to brand standards
- An excitement to learn and grow professionally on a small graphic design team
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (CC) including InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe X, and Photoshop
- Foundation in design theory and visual hierarchy, specifically color theory and typography
- Capacity to work and thrive in a collaborative environment with constructive critique from stakeholders within the design team and organization
- Flexibility — you’re able to think on your feet and shift gears quickly
- Organization and prioritization skills
- Self-starter mentality — you can work on fast-paced day-to-day tasks
- Commitment to building actively anti-racist systems, projects, and teams
BONUS POINTS IF…
- Experience in After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Adobe Audition
- Experience with HTML/CSS
- Prepress experience
- Experience working in a nonprofit setting with a demonstrated commitment to progressive politics and issues
LOCATION AND COMPENSATION:
This posting is for a full-time, remote, salaried position. ActBlue’s headquarters are located in Somerville, MA, just a few blocks from Boston’s MBTA Red Line train. However, we are authorized to support remote work in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Washington DC.
Salary Range: $56,000 - $70,000 depending on experience
