The Content Team is a cross-functional team that develops customer-facing content in collaboration with other departments. We are looking for a Graphic Design Intern to develop Markforged creative content in both digital and print formats. Your work will help tell our story and the stories of our customers to the world.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support teams across our company in creating visual assets, owning the project from information gathering to execution.
  • Manage library of graphic assets, including icons, templates, print assets, digital assets, and more.
  • Examples of projects include:

  • Iconography: Build out a cohesive set of icons and small graphics that represent our smallest units of visual language.
  • Banners: Design physical banners for special events, featuring customer parts or our vision for the future of our industry.
  • Handouts: Work with our engineers to turn their explanations of our technology or the unique ways in which our customers use it into physical booklets and one-pagers that entice readers.
  • Digital Media: Design ads, animations, website UI, or graphics that engage an online community.
  • Branding: Help keep our visual identity on track, and develop an even stronger brand every day.

What We Look For

  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Experience with technical content (engineering, product, manufacturing).
  • Strong sense of typography, color, composition, and aesthetic design to convey complex ideas.
  • High proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and/or Sketch.
  • Proficiency in Fusion 360 and Blender or similar are a strong plus.
  • Willingness to share half-baked ideas and seek constructive criticism.
  • Ability to adapt and work well under pressure with multiple deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, passionate, and able to conceive and drive projects to completion.
  • Must be available to work on-site (Watertown, MA) at least 8 hr/wk.
