Who we are:

Rocketbook reusable notebooks have revolutionized the way millions of people use and digitize handwritten notes at work and in the classroom. In the past few years, we’ve become a disruptive force in the office supply industry by delivering a unique blend of digital and physical innovation. We’re just getting started in our mission to revolutionize personal and team productivity.

Who you are:

You are self-motivated with passion for people and the products you design. Speed and teamwork are your mottos and you feel like the best products are built through cross-functional collaboration. You have a proven track record of delivering products consumers love and at least 2 years working in a mobile UI/UX role in the consumer tech space. You are pumped about the challenges that are associated with designing for a hybrid physical/digital product. You have a forward-thinking design aesthetic and a demonstrated knowledge of best design practices. You enjoy a fast-paced environment in which it takes no time at all to see the impact of your work. You have a deep love for space puns.

In this role, you will:

  • Advocate for the customer, collaborating with the Product, Marketing, and Sales teams to bring to life the best user experience both in hand and on mobile

  • Lead the evolution of the user experience and architect improvements informed by interviewing users, building user flow diagrams, and creating storyboards

  • Design and conduct usability tests and experiments with low fidelity and high fidelity prototypes

  • Analyze the impact of design experiments and changes on KPIs

  • Articulate your design process, inspiration, and decisions to the rest of the team

  • Create sleek mobile and web UI that makes our customers say “Wow. Gorgeous. A revelation. Someone call MoMA.”

  • Perform design QAs and provide feedback to software developers during the development process to ensure a quality user experience

  • Assist other teams with various projects that need ad-hoc contributions from a designer, such as creating and/or updating assets such as landing pages, notebook page designs, iconography, and email templates

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of mobile and web UI/UX experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably in the consumer tech space (applicants with less than 2 years of experience will not be considered)

  • Prior experience of mobile and web UI/UX work that has made it into production

  • Strong design portfolio demonstrating expertise in mobile, web, and graphic design

  • Deep familiarity with modern mobile design best practices (Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design Guidelines)

  • Mastery of Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), and experience with prototyping tools like InVision and Marvel

  • Expert eye for detail and pixel perfection; no detail is too small or insignificant

  • Ability to lead a team end to end through a design process or project when addressing UI/UX changes

  • Ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to make decisions

  • Build-Measure-Learn mentality -- focused more on learnings and iterations as opposed to perfection

Bonus:

  • Animation or videography experience

Perks:

  • Competitive salary

  • Health, Dental and Vision Insurance

  • Flexible vacation policy

  • 401(K) plan with match

  • Remote work friendly

Note: Candidates without a portfolio will not be considered.
