The Opportunity
Rapid7’s Experience Design team is driving the transformation of the brand and creating the end-to-end experiences that build meaningful relationships with our customers. We’re a team that believes boundaries are for pushing and what we did last time is just the beginning of what we’ll do next.
The Experience Design Studio’s Creative Director will lead a team of designers while partnering with our brand, content, digital, experiential, and marketing teams to craft breakthrough design and creative executions that captivate audiences globally. This is an opportunity for a bold thinker, visual guru, and natural storyteller to elevate our brand expression across campaigns, digital, social, events, and more.
The Role
As the Experience Design team’s Creative Director, you’ll shape how we build brand resonance and recognition with our customers by:
Bringing a bold creative vision that challenges convention to amplify our brand and make our marketing stand apart
Setting an extremely high bar for creative execution and consistency across all touchpoints
Leading, mentoring, and inspiring a multidisciplinary design team from concept to execution, while working closely with content strategists and copywriters
Partnering with brand, marketing leaders, and external agencies to develop advertising campaigns, product launches, and digital experiences rooted in emotional connection and customer insight
Partnering with brand and experiential marketing to create memorable and unique experiences at tradeshows and virtual events
Collaborating with brand, content strategy, and creative production to scale the team through improved systems and processes
Working with our brand governance leads to ensure tooling like style guides and visual libraries are up to date
Developing creative talent, fostering an environment of collaboration and open critique, and experimenting with new forms of brand expression
Keeping a 10,000ft view across all projects in flight to ensure our brand is always represented consistently
Over delivering on the brief by proactively seeking opportunities to uplevel brand and marketing experiences
Staying plugged into industry going ons and content trends and developing a deep understanding of how our customers communicate and where they spend time
Key Qualifications and Traits
10+ years’ experience as a design or creative director in an agency environment or in-house capacity (a blend of B2B and B2C experience is welcome)
5+ years managing creatives with a passion for building, mentoring, and motivating inclusive teams
A portfolio of visually arresting and strategic work that spans digital, social, video/motion, experiential, print, and beyond (please submit with your resume)
A track record of developing campaigns that do more than convert, they build a following
Experience elevating a brand’s creative execution and developing creative for global markets
Proven ability to build and scale both design operations and partnerships with external agencies/contractors
Powers of collaboration and persuasion; you don’t just know how to come up with the big idea, you know how to bring others along and gain alignment
Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written, and experience working with senior leadership and C-level executives
Strong project management skills to drive impact across multiple workstreams
Ability to turn complex business needs and goals into simple and compelling creative executions
Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite and other design programs like Figma
Bachelor’s degree or certificate in design, communications, advertising, or equivalent
