This role is in VMWare's Security Business Unit (SBU), VMWare Carbon Black; a leader in cloud-native endpoint protection dedicated to keeping the world safe from cyber-attacks. The VMware Carbon Black Cloud consolidates endpoint protection and IT operations into an endpoint protection platform (EPP) that prevents advanced threats, provides actionable insight and enables businesses of all sizes to simplify operations. 

Job Role and Responsibilities: 

This role for our Security Business organization is focused on business partnering with the GM, key executives and a wide range of functions, across the business unit. The person will report to the SVP and GM – Security Business Unit. 

  • Coordination of all Strategic Business Planning for the Security Business Unit 

  • Business Partner closely with, and represent on behalf of in most internal capacities, the Senior Vice President of Security Business Unit  

  • Setting the operating rhythm for reporting, alignment and cross functional initiatives in line with VMware’s other business units 

  • Create the structure and run the annual strategy definition and planning process and any re-planning while partnering with FP&A 

  • Lead the growth initiatives within the Security Business Unit, as well as oversee the integration activities for the business unit 

  • Generate and interpret data analytics to drive decision making and develop action plans to improve performance   

  • Develop, monitor and help to drive execution across functional and cross-functional initiatives for the business unit 

  • Monitor and engage in fiscal management in coordination with Finance team, to ensure profitable contribution and productivity in the business unit 

  • Work in conjunction with the Sales and Product Operations team to ensure optimal adoption and delivery of the Business Management Process cadence, including Scorecards, Client Exec Performance Rankings, Account Planning, Product Metrics, and Customer Metrics (ARR) 

  • Monitor forecasting cadence and analysis, providing SVP with guidance, projection and propose/drive adjustments and programs to maximize returns and ensure delivery of targets. 

  • Lead the overall dashboarding and metrics process across the business unit 

  • Coordinate and facilitate all aspects of Monthly and Quarterly Business Review, in collaboration with Exec Admin, Sales Operations, Product Management and other matrix functions 

  • Inspire and engage matrix organization to act as One Team and help with the communication and messaging 

 Required Skills: 

  • Experience in Sales/Business Operations or Finance gained within a dynamic high-tech organization 

  • Experienced in working with Senior executives at all levels to ensure the successful execution of strategy through informed decision-making 

  • Ability to challenge execs and the status quo in a Trusted Advisor capacity 

  • Strong operating skills and out-going personality to influence wide range of high-profile individuals 

  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to make quick intuitive decisions/proposals 

  • Strong programs, project and process management experience 

  • Execution focused with the ability to turn data into executable and measurable action plans and programs 

 Preferred Skills: 

  • Our team looks for individuals who embody our values of humility, compassion, collaboration above isolationism, respectfulness, integrity, and good-natured fun.   

  • Experience in Software, Cloud, or Infrastructure such as Security 

  • Enterprise company experience 

  • SaaS / Subscription and business model experience 

  • Experience leading direct and matrixed teams; coupled with experience influencing without authority 

  • MBA or similar business/management programs preferred
