The Senior Research Consulting Professional performs basic observational and experimental scientific, technological, health economics and outcomes investigation directed toward the acquisition of new knowledge and to guide business decisions. The Senior Research Consulting Professional work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

 

Responsibilities

 

The Senior Research Consulting Professional collaborates with others to execute research studies in order to provide answers to relevant business and clinical questions. The Senior Research Consulting Professional leads the study team through study design ideation and development of study protocols and statistical analysis plans for all studies. The Senior Research Consulting Professional will also be responsible for guiding research projects through all necessary internal and external review processes. For retrospective data analyses (e.g. healthcare administrative claims), a collaborating scientist will complete data extraction from a database(s) and will create tabular and graphical displays of study data and analytical results to facilitate interpretations. For certain studies, the Senior Research Consulting Professional may complete data extraction from a database or support primary data collection efforts. The Senior Research Consulting Professional will lead the production of technical reports, internal presentations, peer reviewed publications and conference presentations based on interpretations of study data. The Senior Research Consulting Professional is expected to work without specific direction and will exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Decisions on complex issues regarding study design and statistical methods will be the responsibility of the Senior Research Consulting Professional but collaboration with study team members and other peers is encouraged in order to produce the highest quality work possible.

 

•Leads the development of research study protocols in collaboration with other scientists and business partners

•Seeks approvals for research methods and materials from all relevant parties and committees as required

•Coordinates the study team and study activities to ensure timely completion of project deliverables

•Interprets study results in collaboration with the study team

•Develops presentations and presents results to appropriate audiences

•Develops scientific publications

•Documents study activities and manages study records per departmental policies and procedures

               

Required Qualifications

•Master's degree or PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field of study

•3+ years of research experience or healthcare data analytics experience

•Experience with healthcare administrative claims data

•Strong verbal and written communication skills

•Experience with scientific publication

•Comfortable presenting to various audiences

•Experience partnering with individuals at various levels of an organization

 

Desired Qualifications

•PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field of study

•Experience using SAS for data management and statistical analysis

•Publication of prior studies in peer reviewed journals
