Mendix is in search of a highly talented Database Developer who can grow their career. Ideally, the candidate should have the "bigger" business picture in mind. As part of our systems team, you will predominantly be involved in building business solutions to support our ever-growing insights team. You'll stretch your skills and grow your careers as a primary contributor in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and supporting all types of applications consistent with the established specifications and business requirements in order to deliver business value. Researching, reviewing and designing how we can connect different desperate cloud systems together to give an accurate picture of what is happening in the business. The atmosphere is highly collaborative so we need a true go-getter, someone who will question what they are told and provide suggestions to improve business. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Designs, codes, tests, debug, and documents software, and enhance existing components to ensure that software meets business needs
  • Contribute to the design and architecture to enable secure, scalable, and maintainable software and should be able to clearly articulate the implications of design / architectural decisions, issues and plans to technology leadership
  • Collaborate on the design with other team members and product owners, both inside and outside the scrum team
  • Conduct design and code reviews to ensure code developed meets coding best practices guidelines, and scalability and maintainability guidelines
  • Drive a quality mindset within the team

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of data processing experience (including Data Warehousing in Azure, OLTP, ETL)
  • 5+ years of experience with ETL tools such as Pentaho PDI, DataStage, DBAmp
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL and with relational databases such as SQL Server, MySQL
  • 5+ years of experience with scripting languages such as shell scripting, Python, batch scripts
  • Experience with Boomi, Informatica, SQL system tools
  • Experience building fully - automated data processing solutions
  • Experience with data analysis, unit and system testing
  • Good understanding of SQL, relational database modeling and design
  • Ability to manage own workload, work efficiently, and meet deadlines
  • Successful track record of working at all levels of management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills within all areas including verbal and written are required
  • A strong commitment to working as part of a team
  • Good work ethic, desire to learn and be challenged, self-driven and motivated
