Job Description:

As a Sr. Database Administrator at Invaluable, you will provide leadership, strategy, and innovation for production data architecture and management for our SQL Server database infrastructure. You will work closely with the Development & IT Infrastructure teams to understand business and technology objectives and drive solutions that effectively meet the needs of the company. You will collaborate with project teams to design, implement and continuously improve database-driven solutions. You will also own primary responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the multi-product database systems including monitoring performance and troubleshooting issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with project stakeholders to identify and understand business, technology, and architecture requirements and select technologies to meet customer’s needs
  • Ensuring system scalability, security, performance, and reliability of the database infrastructure
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to SQL database administrators and project team members
  • Participate in the hands-on development of scalable database solutions
  • Maintain and enforce database development standards
  • Work with the DB, IT and DevOps teams to maintain databases and perform database maintenance including patch and release management
  • Analyze system performance; identify problems and implement solutions; review and tune complex SQL statements
  • Monitor database space and capacity, estimate sizing and growth requirements
  • Design and implement data security, including encryption methods
  • Design and manage replication, backup and recovery processes
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies for applicability and adoption

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years Microsoft SQL Server database administration experience
  • Proven expertise in developing logical and physical data models and designs based on customer requirements
  • Demonstrated understanding of complex SQL, stored procedures, and database functions
  • Knowledge in measuring, analyzing and tuning the performance of database applications
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills; able to manage and prioritize multiple assignments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
