We are hiring a Senior Data Scientist to help us to solve business challenges across product and marketing. We’re looking for someone who can apply a wide array of data science and statistical techniques towards product and member data to drive decision making. You will work on some of the biggest questions for the product and business, building models that shape how we interact with our members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop statistical and machine learning models to solve key business questions
• Contribute on all the stages of data science projects: from performing raw data mining to translating complex technical topics into business solutions
• Build and productize models of member behavior including engagement propensity and dynamic LTV
• Identify and build new datasets that would enhance models and decision making
• Partner with data engineering to translate prototypes into production-ready code
• Develop quantitative models using multiple types of data (image, text, categorical and numeric data), leveraging machine learning and advanced data analysis techniques

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
• Machine Learning expertise (e.g. supervised/unsupervised learning, recommendation systems, reinforcement learning, etc)
• 5+ years of full-time professional experience in a related area
• 5+ years experience applying advanced mathematical and statistical techniques
• Experience building models of marketing attribution and media mix a plus
• Experience influencing strategy through data-centric presentations
• Proficient in the scientific Python stack (numpy, scipy, scikit-learn, matplotlib, pandas, etc)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to present findings to stakeholders and communicate results to all colleagues

This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.
