POSITION: Senior Data Scientist

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Position will work independently to design predictive models powering evolving tools such as Revenue Management tool, SEM bidding tool, Fraud-detection platform, etc.; Work independently to analyze traffic patterns, looking to make inferences from behavior data in order to help users find relevant content; measure and test both algorithmic UI changes iteratively, leveraging data to guide the decision making process; collaborate cross-functionally with other TripAdvisor teams and assist them in understanding user behavior as it relates to their business objectives.

REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Econometrics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field plus four (4) years of experience in the job offered or in a related position. Experience must include the following: Demonstrable experience coding in the Python ecosystem for statistical and numerical programming, including Numpy, Scipy, Pandas, and Scikit-Learn; Demonstrable experience writing complex SQL queries; Demonstrable knowledge of data structures and algorithms; Advanced theoretical understanding of Statistics and Machine learning; Advanced knowledge of machine learning models and approaches such as deep neural networks, gradient boosting, learning to rank, and matrix factorization; Practical experience with several machine learning application scenarios such as recommender systems, ranking, natural language processing, and fraud-detection; Demonstrable experience of successfully putting machine learning models in production.
