(Senior) Data Engineer

We are looking for a senior data engineer to build and manage data pipelines for our insurance clients. The ideal candidate is a life-long learner who knows Python, with strong analytical skills and an interest in Machine Learning.

Our software-as-a-service platform provides bias-free, data-driven insights, enabling insurance companies to profitably run their business and expand their offerings to underserved people and markets.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze complex data schemas and relationships to implement information models to capture the data and data relationships.
- Create ETL processing logic to efficiently manage large data sets associated with various types of insurance lines.
- Integrate 3rd party data sets to enhance and extend Gradient AI’s ML data assets.
- Design and implement data pipelines for processing client and 3rd party data as part of the overall ML Ops strategy within Gradient AI’s Cloud deployment.
- Collaborate with data scientists to “featurize” the information models and construct Machine Learning models.
- Assist software engineering teams to design and create integration APIs and applications that sit on top of Gradient AI’s ML data assets.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant working experience
- Fluency in SQL and experience with non-relational/alternative databases like Postgres
- Demonstrated ability writing effective, scalable Python code
- Exposure to ETL / BPM tools like Amazon Glu, Apache Spark, Apache Airflow is nice to have
- Desire to learn new skills and tools (Redshift, Tableau, AWS Lambda, etc.) and exposure working in a cloud-computing environment
- Comfortable with Linux, including developing shell scripts
