About the Position:
We are looking for a motivated Senior Data Architect to help us in the growth of Vestmark’s unique offerings. This role is critical to Vestmark’s future strategic growth plans. The ideal candidate will bring a professional attitude, a solid technical background, and a strong desire to have a major impact by engaging with key decision-makers on a regular basis to guide future product and technology decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and fellow scrum team members in an agile environment, with a cross-functional team, to understand technical needs and user requirements
- Architect and build database systems of high availability and quality depending on the needs of the applications
- Determine optimal storage solutions to enable application performance and scalability
- Minimize database downtime and manage available options to provide the best data loading and query performance
- Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users
- Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures, and standards
- Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity
Required Skills:
- Proven experience as a Data Architect and Database Administrator
- Ability to understand and communicate the performance and manageability tradeoffs of technical decisions
- Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
- Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools
- Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling
- Impeccable attention to detail
Desired Skills:
- Experience with ORM technologies a plus (Hibernate)
- Experience developing financial services software
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud computing environments
Education:
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
