Senior Business Analyst
Rapid7 is seeking a Senior Analyst to join our growing IT Product Management team! This team manages a wide range of internal products. These products are collections of business processes which run on technology (apps, systems, and platforms). At Rapid7, our Moose use these products every day as we strive to make our customers successful and advance security for all.
Analysts on the IT Product Management team wear many hats, including that of product manager, product owner, project/program manager, and business analyst. At this time, the team needs an experienced professional to partner closely with leaders from our Finance organization (Revenue Operations, Order Management, FP&A, Accounting) to advance our finance capabilities, systems, and operations.
Mission and Responsibilities:
Accelerate customer achievement by enabling world-class business processes and systems
Maintain an IT product management ownership stake for the viability and success of Rapid7’s finance capabilities and for engagements, processes, strategies, and systems which relate to that ownership responsibility
Measure and remain accountable for the effectiveness of our finance business capabilities by considering impact for internal Moose and for customers
Provide product management expertise in order to continuously enhance our internal capabilities
Identify, understand, analyze, prioritize, and articulate strategies which will keep capabilities & systems effective, efficient, useful, available, operational
Drive & facilitate the right discussions with business leaders to identify and set priorities related to current and future business objectives
Define product strategy and vision; understand customers, users, and use cases; document needs; set priorities; and drive outcomes
Create just enough documentation, engage in research, consider process redesign with an eye on continuous improvement
Write actionable product backlog items and maintain a crisp, yet, complete product backlog for delivery teams
Attend and participate in agile software delivery ceremonies in many different roles and formats
Collaborate continuously with stakeholders & colleagues to drive transparency & accountability for progress, outcomes & learning opportunities
Build, leverage, and apply partnerships with other Moose (aka - stakeholders, users, SMEs) AND with agile software delivery teams (engineers, architects, admins, technical BAs, BSAs, BSMs) to strategically drive the continual improvement of Rapid7’s business capabilities
Foster a culture of innovation by leading and supporting fusion teams
Provide consultative guidance to enable business led IT outcomes and promote digital dexterity
The ideal candidate will bring the following to the table:
5+ years of experience with enterprise IT technology ideally with best-in-class ERP / CRM / HCM SaaS tools
Experience with product management thought and practices
Experience with complex business processes which run on modern corporate technology architectures
A strong ability to understand outcomes which must be achieved and a strong drive to achieve those outcomes
Strong communication and relationship skills coupled with IT and corporate savvy
The ability to work effectively with other business analysts, key stakeholders, application administrators and end users to understand business and functional requirements and translate those requirements to agile software development product backlog items
The ability to create actionable product backlog items and maintain a crisp product backlog for delivery teams
The ability to work directly with stakeholders to define objectives & prioritize initiatives within the confines of a larger product portfolio
Capacity to bring fresh ideas on how technology can be used to solve big problems
The ability to promote and embrace innovative change
The ability to support company wide initiatives through product management and IT led business analysis
The ability to support business led IT outcomes and fusion teams
