The Corporate Development and Strategy (“CD&S”) team’s remit is global in scope and spans all product lines and business units, making the team an interesting, challenging and valuable place to be within TripAdvisor. CD&S is a small group of highly skilled, ambitious team players with diverse experience and a passion for making the best traveler experience globally.

The Senior Analyst will be an integral member of a cohesive CD&S team that will support M&A transactions as well as corporate strategy development. At its core, the role involves growth idea generation and opportunity sourcing, efficient deal qualification, market research, business case development, financial modeling, diligence process execution, and integration planning support.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Develop a detailed understanding of TripAdvisor’s business, portfolio and drivers as well as the online Travel market, ecosystem of players, business models and key innovation areas
  • Help build highly compelling business cases and rationale for opportunities to gain organizational support and resourcing
  • Efficiently qualify partner/buy opportunities considering corporate strategy, product & financial requirements
  • Partner with internal team members to drive M&A initiatives holistically from idea through integration/launch, and the virtual, cross-functional teams to support them
  • Maintain and share knowledge of global market conditions, competition, and opportunities

Desired skills and experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, or corporate M&A (primary role). Industry experience preferably in technology, ideally in internet, digital media and/or software.
  • Highly proficient with Excel and PowerPoint, strong experience building M&A business cases supported by detailed financial/valuation models
  • Experience with multitasking various projects effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical capabilities in terms of building P&Ls, advanced business modeling and valuation capabilities with key internet, mobile, commerce and digital media metrics
  • Strong writing and communication skills – ability to communicate concisely and effectively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-develop data-driven analyses, able to synthesize information and turn it into successful strategy and/or business case
  • Organized, entrepreneurial self-starter; able to identify what needs to get done, then willing and able to make it happen
  • Proven team player; participation and achievement in team-based sport/activity is a strong plus
  • BS/BA required, preferred focus areas in Business, Economics, and/or Finance/Accounting
