Who you are
You have a second nature level of comfort with SQL, Python, Git, and local / cloud based development environments (e.g. JupyterLabs, Databricks or equivalent). You have comprehensive experience in developing and implementing machine learning models in production systems. You have utilized time-boxed experimentation to optimize data science products to improve business value.
You are driven towards DS innovation, have an affinity to be forward-thinking, and have crafted DS products not only for the immediate needs but aligned to where Acquisition Marketing is heading in the near future and tied to company goals. You approach problems without pretense, and when presented with a challenge, pick the right tool for the job; introducing new methods when vital but also recognizing when a classical or off-the-shelf solution will suffice.
You have an unwavering aim to learn the intricacies of the Acquisition Marketing teams mission, data exhaust, strategy, and company OKRs. You are flexible in execution; agile value generation comes through multiple iterations of a core DS product. You have worked with the teams to align each DS product opportunity with organizational OKRs, and build consensus with how value crafted from DS will be tracked and jointly communicated to the broader organization.
What the role is
This role is open because we have substantial goals for how Drizly engages with its customer base going forward, the average Drizly customer is more valuable than ever, and the value of a 1% improvement to existing processes is larger than it’s ever been. The Acquisition Marketing roadmap requires additional data science resources, as well as DS specific asks.
The role will be responsible for developing, prioritizing, and executing on the top opportunities identified in the Acquisition Marketing DS roadmap and collaborating with our broader Marketing, Analytics, and DS organizations. Data science opportunities that are implemented by this person will touch all aspects of the Drizly New Customer Acquisition Flywheel; from becoming more than just an ecommerce/delivery platform for our customers - to driving technology innovation for Acquisition Marketing, to partnering with our engineering and data science partners, to craft predictive models to facilitate budgetary, attribution, and optimization decisions. We need to invest in the analytic firepower and bandwidth to support these teams, and more generally, the Drizly customer.
Please note: this role can be performed remotely anywhere in the United States with the exception of Colorado.
In this role you will:
- Develop data science products roadmap across the Acquisition Marketing Team
- Refine, prioritize, and execute DS opportunities in a collaborative manner
- Iterate and ship DS product versions in an experimental
- Aim to rapidly adapt and improve the products
- Collaboratively coordinate and report value creation from DS products with the Acquisition Marketing Team
