Key Outcomes:

  • Become familiar with:
    • Indigo’s screening pipeline
    • Greenhouse experiments
    • Greenhouse and headhouse operations
  • Execute screening assays in greenhouse (sowing, watering, harvesting, collect, store, track and analyze experiment data)
  • Become comfortable using lab automation equipment to maximize throughput
  • Execute experiments independently and set up microbial screening assays and in planta experiments
  • Dispose of research material; clean and maintain headhouse as per best management practices
  • Support experimental design, experiment implementation and capture of physiology metrics
  • Support and enable implementation on automation technologies such as automated watering, electronic data capture and digital imaging
  • Contribute to new assay development, own specific projects in coordination with scientists to identify microbial candidates to move to next stage in pipeline

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with 2-3 years’ experience in plant biology and/or agriculture
  • Greenhouse work and basic management experience required
  • Plant phenotyping experience required
  • Lab, data collection experience required
  • Plant assay and screening experience required
  • Experience working with ARM strongly desirable
  • Data collection, management and analysis (Excel, R or Python) is required; SQL knowledge is desired
  • Ability to lift up to 70 Ib. using a forklift
  • Creative, organized, methodical and meticulous
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Location

On the edge of Charlestown, we are within walking distance to restaurants and bars. The Sullivan Square T and bus stop is also right next door! We are currently working remote/hybrid with the exception of our fantastic Biotrinsic team who work from the office and lab space here.
