Quantitative Research Engineers create novel data-driven solutions which enable Aurora Flight Sciences to incorporate statistical understanding and advanced techniques drawn from research in cutting-edge aerospace applications. We work as a feedback loop between operational deployments at scale and algorithm design for autonomy, using model-based reasoning to characterize, support, and improve our products. You will be part of a team of developers creating a platform encompassing sensing, inference, and decision making capable of robustly handling complex and uncertain environments and generating evidence of safety and efficacy.
Specific Responsibilities
Analyze and model extensive aerospace data from operations in the physical world
Collaborate closely with leading research institutions through partnerships within Aurora’s Autonomy Center
Create advanced algorithms leveraging operational data for safe, efficient, and performant autonomous decision making
Develop software modeling operationally relevant complex and uncertain situations (e.g. negotiating a safe landing in untowered airports)
Leverage physical and simulated operations to quantify characteristics of autonomy
Position Requirements
Must be a US Person (US Citizen, Green Card Holder or US Permanent Resident)
