Program Manager - Data and AI Governance

To continue our cutting-edge work, we are hiring a Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance Delivery Lead to join our Team.

Data, analytics and algorithmic decision making are at the core of MassMutual’s digital evolution.
In this role, you will be accountable to create and maintain a Data and AI Governance roadmap, holistic program plan, and communication program for our data and AI governance objectives, consumer privacy goals, and regulatory mandates. You will also be accountable to track team KPIs, coordinate intake and backlog management, support our agile initiatives including dependency and risk management assistance; and ensure consistency of execution, quality and adherence to enterprise PMO requirements.
Objectives of the role
Establish a vision, create and maintain a strategic Data and AI Governance Roadmap that holistically addresses data governance, AI governance and consumer privacy rights.
Ensure consistency and quality of planning, risk management, KPIs, communication, and delivery across our team, including our Enterprise PMO governance requirements.
Ensure team leadership and stakeholders always have a proactive dashboard with current management information at the program level and appropriate details at the initiative or service level.
Facilitate efficient decision making
Democratize and maximize the value of MassMutual’s data, analytics and AI assets across all business channels.
Achieve industry-leading consumer trust, loyalty and NPS with superior consumer privacy rights including MassMutual’s support for the California Consumers Privacy Act (CCPA).
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
Create and maintain a strategic Data and AI Governance Roadmap that holistically addresses data governance, AI governance and consumer privacy rights.
Lead program management efforts to continuously improve MassMutual’s support for the California Consumers Privacy Act (CCPA).
Drive and monitor program execution, scope and resource management, risk management, and a robust, multi-audience communications program to ensure transparency, efficient decision making, and predictable delivery.
Establish and track quantitative measures of progress, value and risks aligned with our data and AI strategic imperatives.
Produce regular status reports and dashboards at the program level and for key projects in the portfolio.
Collaborate and partner with other leaders across our data science and data engineering teams, business channels, law, compliance, enterprise risk, and information security for best practices and execution.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.
Extensive experience and successful track record establishing and executing complex, strategic, cross-functional technology programs.
Strong project management experience with preference for practical agile tactics and methodologies.
Enterprise resource planning and SDLC governance for technology initiatives
Experience creating KPIs and using them to manage execution and inform strategy.
Excellent communication, problem solving, organizational and analytical skills.
Able to work independently.
Exceptional influencing abilities across all levels of the organization.
Knowledge of data architectures, data modeling, business analytics, and DevOps software development life cycles/toolchains
Authorized to work in the USA with or without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree preferred (MS, MBA, and JD).
Financial services knowledge, including core products, business processes and participants
Experience implementing and managing enterprise programs around data management and governance in highly regulated industries
Knowledge of methods in machine learning and artificial intelligence
Expertise with the following are considered a strong plus: financial industry regulations, GDPR, privacy impact assessments, vendor management, statistical analysis, ML/AI development.
