Berxi (berxi.com) is looking for our Chief Technology Officer to lead our Engineering team out of our Boston, MA office. In this position, you will be responsible for:

• Working with the Digital Enterprise Director and Chief Architect to define our engineering roadmap
• Expanding our engineering organization by identifying roles and acquiring key talent necessary to enhance our current capabilities
• Developing and administering engineering budgets consistent with the organization’s strategic business objectives and engineering roadmap 

We are looking for a candidate with extensive web, micro-service, cloud and direct-to-consumer digital architecture and engineering experience in a high-growth environment.  Strong organizational, administrative and management skills are also essential as is the ability to collaborate with key participants. Experience with the property and casualty insurance industry is a plus.

A passion for leading a team and mentorship is essential.  This role requires a forward-thinking individual, who will take a proactive problem-solving approach to our stakeholders needs and combine that with a strong vision and organizational management to take on our next challenges and shape what is possible. 

The successful candidate will direct the efforts of our full-stack engineering team as well as, DevOps, quality assurance and infrastructure to deliver against key priorities. Most of all, the candidate will be part of an outstanding team that's at the core of engineering the platform that is Berxi.com.

Skillset

• Designing and developing customer facing website applications with proficiency across the technology stack and experience with multiple frameworks including but not limited to Ruby, Java and/or .NET.
• Integrating with third party APIs and creating a modern API architecture for exposure to 3^rd party insurance carriers
• Understanding of software infrastructure (network, storage, security, backup etc.)
• Building and mentoring a strong and highly efficient, full-stack engineering team.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks
• Working closely with digital marketing technologies a plus
• Some knowledge of relational databases and SQL
• Familiarity with scrum/agile led software development
• Willingness to learn and implement new technologies and languages
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills (both technology and non-tech stakeholders)

Experience

• 10+ years of demonstrated software development experience across a broad range of technologies
• Strong experience designing and implementing systems architecture for end to end web applications
• A bachelor’s degree or higher
