Why this job is important:
As a Principal, Business Intelligence & Analytics at Bullhorn, you will lead data initiatives at Bullhorn, leveraging operational and financial data to enhance visibility into business performance. In this role you must utilize your strong business acumen to understand the business context represented by the data and use statistical modeling and predictive analytics to create correlations between various data sets. The position will also leverage strong statistical analysis with critical soft skills like communication, critical thinking and problem solving. The Principal, Business Intelligence & Analytics will serve as the liaison between operational leadership and IT, working closely with the VP of Global Technologies, CFO, CEO and other critical stakeholders.
As an example you will analyze usage metrics from various modules of Bullhorn’s customer offerings to help predict how sub-segments of the business are likely to perform: which cohorts may churn, which may downsell or which are likely to significantly add users to the platform based on their usage patterns.
A typical day might include:
Leverage knowledge of the business to analyze operational & financial data to identify trends, anomalies, & outliers in the data
Use modern data mining techniques to analyze large data sets, both structured & unstructured, to highlight trends concerning business objectives.
Partner with business stakeholders to explain findings in an easy to understand, business friendly manner.
Consistently be hunting for new data sets, correlations, and relationships of various data within the Company.
Perform regression analysis and other statistical techniques to test the validity of reporting and detect issues with the underlying data.
Understand underlying source data and document the business processes with which it is derived
Gather and analyze historical, current and predictive views of business operations to help improve decision making
Challenge and Improve the overall KPIs and metrics that help us measure our success and focus our operational activities
This role may be a fit for you if:
Master’s degree with a concentration in business, statistics, or other discipline stressing quantitative analytic skills in a business environment.
7+ years of experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst or working in business modeling & strategy with a focus on analytics
Experience with SQL and exposure to big data.
3+ years of experience with Data Visualizations tools such as Qlikview or Tableau
Must be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, flexible environment.
Strong presentation skills with the ability to distill complex concepts into actionable insights.
Strong customer relations and ability to deliver business value with technical excellence
Bonus points for:
Experience translating requirements to well-written user stories to bridge the gap between business and technology
Experience with data collection and interpretation in a SaaS product environment.
R or Python programming
Experience presenting to C level executives
Experience with Snowflake data warehouse platform
