We are looking for someone to lead our Data Engineering team at ASICS Digital. In this role you will lead a team that is delivering the data platform for a beloved fitness brand. In this role you will lead the technical roadmap, execution, and decision making on technologies and patterns for our data engineering team.  
 
You will work closely across engineering, analytics, product, and global business stakeholders to shape the way that ASICS delivers its data platform and how the organization can derive insights and provide a personalized experience for our customers. 
 
You will build high trust relationships with your team as you support their career development, the technical vision, and execution of the team.
 
We expect you to have strong technical skills in data engineering and to have worked on a variety of platforms, technologies and frameworks. The ideal new team member is someone that enjoys getting into the technical details with the team and is passionate about technology, data engineering, and influencing the direction of the team.

Our goal is to build digital technologies to better connect the ASICS brand to its consumers. We are responsible for the continued development of the ASICS global eCommerce platforms, and supporting digital services that encourage people to move, get fit and stay balanced. 
 
Responsibilities: 
· Write and maintain data pipelines using Python and SQL to ingest data from a variety of batch and streaming data sources 
· Deploy and monitor data infrastructure in the cloud using Terraform and AWS 
· Mentor and grow the careers of engineers on the team 
· Lead architecture conversations and determining roadmap 
· Contribute to code reviews and encourage programming best practices in Python 
· Collaborate cross-functionally with analytics and product teams to develop solutions to enhance the  experience of the ASICS consumer 

Requirements: 
· 3+ years data engineering, 1+ years experience as a team lead or manager 
· Strong in system architecture, writing clean and well-tested code, data governance, requirements gathering, problem solving 
· Experience with Python, knowledge of best practices, setting up virtual environments, writing tests 
· Experience managing cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery), designing data models, data pipelines, and tuning and optimizing queries 
· Experience with AWS technologies including S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, Kinesis, ECS 
· Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD (CircleCI, Jenkins) 
· Bonus: experience managing and deploying orchestration tools like Airflow and dbt

What’s the vibe like in the office?

You can expect to hear anything from Celine Dion to Megadeth playing on Fridays from our Jambox, spontaneous poetry readings (from me), random off-beat slow claps for doing everyday tasks i.e. leaving the office. Overall though, my favorite thing about our office is the safe environment to be who you are every day.
