Cricket Health’s Data Analyst will report directly to the Data Team Lead. The Data Analyst will work closely with our payor and provider partners to understand their healthcare data assets and communicate key insights directly to internal and external stakeholders. In the short term, the Data Analyst will help our customers quantify the potential savings from Cricket’s clinical interventions, taking into account each partner’s unique membership profile such as Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) prevalence and baseline dialysis costs. Over time, emphasis will shift towards building data visualization dashboards, understanding how patients interact with the Cricket platform and care team, and automating data pipelines for partner implementations. We are looking for someone who is passionate about healthcare data analytics, has excellent communication skills, and is a team player. You will be responsible for translating raw, complex datasets into meaningful insights that will help Cricket make critical business decisions and improve patient lives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with healthcare payor and provider customers to map external claims datasets to Cricket’s standard internal data models
  • Write SQL code to clean and analyze different types of healthcare data including medical claims, prescription claims, electronic health record (EHR), lab data, etc. 
  • Build, QC, and publish reporting dashboards using Business Intelligence (BI) software such as Looker, Qlik, Tableau, and/or R Shiny
  • Develop complex clinical data definitions to inform Cricket’s value proposition using clinical ontologies such as ICD-10, CPT, SNOMED, LOINC, NDC, RxNorm, etc.
  • Iterate on code bases to streamline query efficiency and automate future work using source code control systems (e.g. Bitbucket) to manage code development process
  • Support the Product team by analyzing product feature utilization trends
  • Build data-driven presentations that translate complex data analyses into crisp insights with clear recommendations - present your own work soup to nuts to C-suite!
  • Communicate within Cricket cross-functionally to make sure the broader Cricket team is aware of any data roadblocks and understands key learnings and takeaways

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of healthcare data analytics experience (claims, EHR, etc.)
  • Excellent SQL skills 
  • Strong data visualization dev skills using Looker, Qlik, Tableau, and/or R Shiny
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to work across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for Cricket Health’s mission

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Experience in a client facing role (e.g. management consulting / advisory services)
  • Strong R skills
  • Experience with Python or applied statistical tools such as SAS or SPSS
  • VBA proficiency in order to automate Excel and / or PowerPoint dev efforts
  • Experience working in a startup environment at a healthcare company
