Head of Enterprise Data Governance Platform
This leader will be responsible for engaging with data scientists, controls partners, and other business functional leaders to define and build a platform strategy, standards and requirements for a governance program to catalog, assess, measure, and monitor the firm's information assets.
This role will be accountable for driving tangible business value through the delivery and adoption of leading enabling technologies and will require strong collaboration with leaders across multiple business functions and other internal teams and vendors.
Key role responsibilities
- Define the strategic solution architecture for the suite of enterprise data governance solutions covering enterprise data catalog and lineage, data governance architectures, data quality instrumentation, integration patterns, and enterprise work management.
- Establish strategies, reference architectures, road maps, standards, best practices, and solution patterns for enterprise data governance solutions.
- Partner with the Enterprise Information and Data Architecture / Solution Architecture community to influence Enterprise Architecture ensuring enterprise solution blueprints fully reflect data governance-by-design and privacy-by-design.
- Lead data quality and profiling tools solutioning, acquisition, integration and support
- Execute technical leadership and DevOps ownership for enterprise data governance solutions including the enterprise catalog, enterprise metadata acquisition and management for classification and information lifecycle management, alignment with ACORD digital model, and data quality capabilities.
- Provide leadership in cooperation with governance program stewards to help drive our data culture from the catalog
- Extend the enterprise data catalog to support enterprise AI/ML product and analytics governance as a key part of the end-to-end metadata, lineage and accountability model
- Support data, privacy and AI assessments
- Partner with the DPAIG Cloud Software Architect, who has accountability for overall DPAIG platform architecture as we commence our journey to cloud-native, DevOps
- Engineer governance data models and pipelines to capture, prepare, and enrich evidentiary data and ultimately integrate into an experience presented to customers and enterprise stakeholders
- Create and execute on a strategic roadmap for measuring, baselining, enhancing and sustaining data quality improvements over time
- Implement a metadata solution to efficiently catalog available data sets and elements, their definitions, relationships and usage context
- Adjust business technology processes to integrate data architecture reviews and maintenance of data quality rules and metadata
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience leading data platform/governance/quality initiatives for large financial institutions
- 10+ years of data management experience including data architecture, data quality management, metadata management, data governance and master/reference data management
- Ability to think and function both strategically and tactically, while driving transformation in a federated operating culture
- Deep experience with current metadata technologies for big data and traditional sources and challenges associated with cataloguing data sets and collecting data lineage
- Expert knowledge of data platform architectures in the context of big data and a complex landscape of mission critical transactional and analytical systems
- Strong leader and strategic thinker with ability to build and inspire teams and develop relationships with multiple stakeholder groups to drive adoption and deliver expected benefits
- Ability to deliver complex projects using effective planning, pragmatic approaches, and collaboration, despite obstacles and ambiguity

- In depth, multi-disciplinary expertise in data catalog deployment, support and development
- Data Governance/Management consulting experience
