Financial Data Quality Intern
Job Overview
Our Business Intelligence & Analytics team is seeking a Financial Data Quality Intern with financial services experience to support an expanding enterprise data quality program. This candidate will join a team which will ensure the highest level of financial data quality (e.g. review our ARR Run Rate and set a baseline for financials). In this highly dynamic and fast-paced environment, this individual will be accountable for working with the Finance and other business units to provide recommendations for appropriate controls and reporting which will improve the data quality at the point of data origin. The ideal candidate will be responsible for understanding the business process and managing quality data and governance against the requirements in support of successful product delivery to Rapid7’s customers. He/she will work closely with Finance and IT partners to research, remediate and monitor data quality issues impacting the business. This is a contractor position (3y months duration).
This candidate will be responsible for:
Cleansing and validating our financial transaction data from prior years to support go-forward financial calculations with a primary focus on annual recurring revenue
Analyzing current data landscape, assess completeness and present progress against quality metric
Analyzing root cause of data quality issues and champion people, process and technology solutions to improve data management and quality (both active and passive governance controls).
Identifying and recommending tools and processes for data cleansing projects and ongoing data maintenance.
Executing cleansing exercises, either through manual update or data load to address issue areas
Implementing processes/solutions to improve and sustain data quality.
Submitting technology requests to make appropriate changes that will increase the quality of master data.
Collaborating with IT, business subject matter experts and data users on change management with respect to new or updated data standards, master data records, and lifecycle processes.
Documenting data processes, data definitions and recommend areas of improvement

Possess strong knowledge of business process, data or information management, and data quality standards and processes.

Ability to analyze data from multiple sources, driving accurate data being communicated to outside departments.
Excellent customer service skills including being courteous, responsive, accurate and competent.
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and committed to meeting deadlines and creating and improving processes.
Self-starter, ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and deliver solid action-oriented results quickly.
Ability to work in a matrix environment with demonstrated ability to interface with a variety of cross functional business and IT partners.
Required Experience
2+ years in accounting, finance, analytics or data management
1+ years of experience using an ERP system. Netsuite master data acumen preferred.
Proficiency with Excel at an intermediate level.
Experience in technology/software (SQL, Tableau or database management experience) preferred
Experience using DemandTools, Informatica, SAP Data Quality or other data quality tools, a plus
