The Federal Reserve is developing a new interbank 24x7x365 real-time gross settlement (RTGS) service with integrated clearing functionality, called the FedNow service. This service will help enable financial institutions provide their customers with the ability to send and receive payments any time, any day, and have full access to those funds within seconds. This position is a unique opportunity to be part of a new mission-critical Federal Reserve initiative that will be transformative to the payments landscape in the United States.
A requirement of this position is that the employee must be fully vaccinated (1 or 2 dose shot) and boosted, against COVID-19 or qualify for an accommodation from the Bank's vaccination policy; individuals who are unable to be vaccinated due to a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief may request an accommodation from the Bank. While open to location and remote work, residence near a Federal Reserve facility is preferred.
The content developer and writer, within the broader FedNow Industry Readiness team, is responsible for writing and developing the materials that power the growth and adoption of the FedNow Service. The role will support a broad range of content, including educational guides, customer trainings, webinar content, event materials, newsletters, emails, and other customer-facing communications.
A day in the role will require you to be able to do any of the following:
- Deliver high-quality content within fast-paced production cycles
- Develop and edit both creative and technical content, through partnership with various internal organizations (product, operations, technology, national marketing and communications, etc.), to be shared via different mediums and channels
- Peer edit and review content from other writers and the broader team
- Assist with managing content inventory
- Support Communication calendar planning, with a focus on the customer communication experience across all channels
- Support the content intake and stakeholder review process
- Support internal efforts, such as writing formal processes and procedures, and building high quality presentations
- Prioritize content development and delivery to enable the customer pipeline to scale, support annual onboarding goals and deliver a superior customer experience
- Work proactively to deepen your understanding of our market, customers, and product
- Gain subject matter expertise on the FedNow Service, payment ecosystem, key players, and competitive landscape
- Ensure messaging is aligned and consistent with the FedNow Service product roadmap and industry readiness strategy
- Learn and adhere to the FedNow content style guide

Knowledge and Skills:
- At least 7 years of experience writing about business, products, digital content strategy, B2B, marketing principles, innovation, and or leadership topics
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or related field
- Advanced writing and editing skills with an ability to synthesize complex topics and information
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with ability to express ideas in a clear, concise, and compelling manner, ability to tailor communications for different audiences
- Excellent collaboration and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a highly complex, fast-paced agile environment, geographically diverse, and matrixed organization
- Demonstrates high aptitude to work within relevant technology and software applications (Advanced Microsoft Office skills, Teams, SharePoint). Illustrator, InDesign, and PowerApps experience is a plus
- Independent thinking, objective analysis, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to negotiate and influence without direct authority and with strong relationship management skills
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to define and communicate business goals, and related content objectives
