 Indigo is expanding its international presence to countries throughout the world. In order to make this possible, we need a new leader within Field Data Solutions to meet the needs of these markets and ensure we’re moving towards global standards for field data collection and usage. In this role you will represent the needs of each of market and help define their strategy for capturing field level agronomic or conditional information by deploying new solutions (e.g. drones, machinery, sensors, apps, etc). As part of the Field Data Solutions and broader Geo-Innovation team, you will represent our vision and value add across the world. Eventually you will hire a team of in-market employees to run operations locally.


Responsibilities:

  • Meet key international/in market resources to understand how their processes for field data currently work and how they will be used in the future
    • Understand key differences between business models across different geographies
  • Become subject matter expert for international data topics and bridge the gap between groups and geographies
  • Establish a universally understood methodology for data collection, process and analysis and derive grower relevant insights within agreed upon timelines
    • Develop process for requesting new data asks from users
  • Develop a plan for future FDS and data collection in regard to each market
    • Integrate existing international data into US-based FDS systems
    • Drive consistent process for future international data ingestion
    • Build strong technology vendors/partnerships in local areas to make sure of consistency of data collection
  • Establish process to generate Historical Data Reports on customers who had sufficient amounts of in-farm data including customers in countries without in-country Indigo operations
    • Make recommendations on forward looking data to be included with live data sets
  • Bring international market into standardize US-based FDS process as possible
    • Develop individualized process as needed based on local geographies
    • Identify international data source partners to help drive business development alongside head of FDS
    • Represent international in field data steerco
  • Help to drive adoption of our internationalized FDS solution products to ex-US markets and identify net-new features required to achieve successful adoption
  • Regularly travel within local markets to establish rapport and maintain strong relationships with international team in Boston

  • Be able to bridge the gap from PowerPoint to field by operationalizing global strategies and direction for local onsite implementation (including understanding of restrictions around cross-border shipping of technologies, language different, etc.) 

Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced degree preferred, MBA or MS-MA in a science, technology, or data related field
  • Ag domain knowledge preferred, not required
  • Prior experience managing a team spread across multiple time zones and countries
  • Prior experience within an international setting is required, second language is a plus
  • Leader of technology, experience working with data, technology and software from an international context
  • Experience finding global solutions that fit in with local needs

Location

On the edge of Charlestown, we are within walking distance to restaurants and bars. The Sullivan Square T and bus stop is also right next door! We are currently working remote/hybrid with the exception of our fantastic Biotrinsic team who work from the office and lab space here.
