Job Overview:

 

The Denodo developer is responsible for developing data virtualization solutions. This position is a part of new team being built to address key data analytic use cases for the enterprise and at the same time building a modern data platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Responsibilities

o Work with internal (IT technical and functional) and external (vendor) partners to collect and document requirements for data-related solutions.

o Be able to address most technical questions concerning customization, integration, and general feature / functionality of Denodo.

o Interpret business requirements to derive technical solutions via systems analysis, design, and prototyping.

o Participate in and adheres to the code management process, including use of source code control utilities and facilitation of migration of code across multiple environments

o Follow change management processes, including source code control, versioning, branching, defect tracking and release management.

o Follow system development lifecycle as defined by Project Management Office.

o Assist in providing day to day production support activities.

· Development

o Create physical, business & application data virtualization artifacts including views, procedures, transformation, data sources, definitions & models.

o Create API Layers for internal/external stakeholders using REST/SOAP to deliver standardized data.

o Connect heterogeneous data sources and standardize the data across the organization to create information delivery applications supporting a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

o Maintain and extend agile data development methodology in support of both self-service and full-service models.

o Create reusable semantic and report-specific data layers that are secure and performant.

o Develop techniques for optimizing solutions, including caching, refactoring, performance, and testing.

o Ensure data security is maintained throughout the user, application, platform, and data layers.

o Develop integration with front-end tools (Tableau, custom apps) and back-end applications and data (e.g. SAP).

o Define data catalogues.

· Works under minimal supervision

· Be willing to travel as necessary to address or service customer needs. (Currently working remote)

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities.

 

Qualifications

  • Requires 5+ plus years of in-depth experience in data modeling and SQL development.

  • Passionate coders with 3-5 years of application development experience.
  • Client facing or consulting experience highly preferred.
  • Skilled problem solvers with the desire and proven ability to create innovative solutions.
  • Flexible and adaptable attitude, disciplined to manage multiple responsibilities and adjust to varied environments.
  • Future technology leaders- dynamic individuals energized by fast paced personal and professional growth.
  • Phenomenal communicators who can explain and present concepts to technical and non-technical audiences alike, including high level decision makers.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Math, Engineering or comparable major.
  • Solid foundation in Computer Science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing software using agile methodologies.
  • Proficient in authoring, editing and presenting technical documents.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via multiple channels (verbal, written, etc.) with technical and non-technical staff.
