Data/Operations Consultant- REMOTE NEW ENGLAND/NY
The Opportunity
As a Data/Operations Consultant, you'll have an opportunity join a strategic team working with both home office business partners as well as the field. This role will act as the primary provider of reporting and data analytics to support MMFA Field Management with driving results, increasing sales, recruiting, and retention. Using predictive analysis, diagnostic trends, and effective program management, this role will provide ad hoc reporting, design, and support to drive success across all of Field Management.
The Team
Our strategy team, as a part of the larger Field Management organization, provides internal business partners with information through a combination of data visualization and business analytics as well as overall project management on many key company and field initiatives. Plainly put, this role will assist in finding meaning in data to create positive impact, drive results, and manage programs in an effective manner. This role will respond to requests for information on a regular basis while also proactively engaging internal partners; using data and analytics to drive improvement in MassMutual's business. This role will process data into digestible pieces of quality and actionable information, giving leaders the information they need to make tactical and strategic business decisions across our Field Management channels.
The Impact
As Data/Operations Consultant, you will be responsible for analysis and problem solving as relates to data, types of data, and relationships among data elements within a business system. You will produce/deliver results through Business Intelligence tools and derive meaningful insights through visualizations. Your role will also have a primary responsibility to support and help manage projects and programs within our Field Management organization. This includes the ability to create supporting presentations and materials. Project work and program support includes items such as diversity and inclusion, MassMutual Academy and/or training and fly-in events, our Society 1851 program supporting top advisors, Field Leadership Development program support, Strategic Alliances, and outside tools and vendor requests.
The Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/analytical or related field
At least 3 years experience working with complex data analysis and communicating results
Experience working with disparate sets of data, or disparate reports, to compile, analyze, and summarize into an integrated report, dashboard, or story
Experience managing projects, establishing timelines and project plans, while also communicating with constituents and driving results
Experience utilizing BI tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, MSBI or other modern Business Intelligence platforms
Expertise in Microsoft Office suite especially PowerPoint, Word, Excel
Basic understanding of applied statistics principles
The Ideal Qualifications
Familiarity or experience with insurance products and distribution
Experience working with Microstrategy
Advanced knowledge of SQL concepts (joins, functions, stored procedures, CTEs, etc.)
Experience building data visualizations to effectively communicate and demonstrate key metrics, trends, and insights
Familiarity with IT, data warehouses, and agile development projects
Strategic thinking while also being detail oriented and analytically driven
Ability to translate complex problems, observations, or findings, into insightful and consumable information
Strong communication, relationship and collaboration skills
Quick learner who can work in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment
Ability to manage several concurrent projects or workstreams
