Database Administrator
Geode Capital Management, LLC is looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team! This hybrid work environment position requires expertise with Microsoft SQL Server services, tools, and databases running on Windows Server operating systems. An ideal candidate should have solid experience in PowerShell and T-SQL scripting, along with experience in recovery, and troubleshooting of database issues. Experience working with AWS RDS and familiarity with Tableau are pluses.
The DBA position requires knowledge and skills to manage the operations, services, and infrastructure needed to achieve the highest service levels (e.g., 7x24 availability, performance, etc.) and consequent high customer satisfaction. You will be expected to resolve and help guide resolution of multiple complex problems in a rapidly growing organization across multiple development and support teams. This role will share SysAdmin responsibilities.
Role and Responsibilities:
- 5+ years of experience in Production DBA role.
- Exposure to industry standard MSSQL database solutions, including High Availability solutions like Windows Server Failover Cluster, Mirroring, and Replication.
- Knowledge in DB monitoring automation.
- Good knowledge of database performance monitoring and tuning.
- Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements using MS & 3rd party tools.
- Deep dive into the details of execution plans.
- Forensic investigative mindset when examining live database admin problems
- Strong exposure to relational databases.
- Experience in DB migration, troubleshooting and resolving issues.
- Knowledge in data population techniques, data modelling and performance tuning.
- Experience with advanced data movement techniques like CDC
Nice to Haves:
- Experience in AWS RDS is a plus.
- Familiarity with Tableau is also a plus.
- Work experience in financial service industry.
