As a Data Scientist on our GeoInnovation team you will perform in-depth end-to-end analyses of incredibly large and complex datasets. Collaborating across multiple teams, your work will directly impact data-driven recommendations for growers and other external users. Collaborating closely with other data scientists and engineers, you will improve and expand upon existing systems and analytical products, ultimately owning your own analyses and associated products. This is a unique opportunity to play an integral role on a close-knit team that is dedicated to solving complex and meaningful problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Indigo's existing systems and data assets
  • Take ownership of discrete analyses, delivering on challenging deadlines, becoming a go-to person in the organization
  • Build statistical and machine learning models to inform business strategies and product offerings
  • Design and develop compelling visualizations
  • Present results of analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Contribute to thoughtful business and sales recommendations using results of analyses
  • Develop hypotheses and design associated experiments to support new initiatives

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years experience in industry
  • Masters or PhD degree with a quantitative focus preferred
  • Fluent in Python and R
  • Experience with git or a similar version control software
  • Experience using PostgreSQL
  • Practical experience building predictive and explanatory models
  • Experience working in either AWS or Google Cloud environment
  • Experience working in an Agile software and/or product development environment preferred
  • Familiarity with geospatial, satellite, or imagery data strongly preferred

Location

On the edge of Charlestown, we are within walking distance to restaurants and bars. The Sullivan Square T and bus stop is also right next door! We are currently working remote/hybrid with the exception of our fantastic Biotrinsic team who work from the office and lab space here.
