The Platforms team is looking for a Data Engineer to help scale our production and analytics databases to handle this massive volume. If you love data, enjoy exploring new database technologies, have a relentless attention to detail, and are excited about delivering new data-driven functionality to our Marketing, Ad, and Commerce teams, come join our team!

Here's what the role entails:

  • Design, implement, maintain, and QA ETL jobs
  • Maintain and scale our ETL tooling process to ensure flexibility for future enhancements
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy within our various data pipelines
  • Tune and implement improvements—in terms of quality, reliability, scalability, or data access—for our production data stores
  • Spearheading the definition and implementation of data archiving protocols with Platforms team members
  • Working with Product, Marketing, and eCommerce teams to build out necessary data warehousing infrastructure
  • Bring an analytical mindset to every conversation across the company

Requirements:

  • Ability to handle large sets of data (i.e. hundreds of millions of rows of data) and make it performant
  • Experience with Data Warehousing principles and practices
  • Comfortability with experimenting with new technology to process data more efficiently
  • Experience working with relational databases
  • Experience testing data integrity with automation
  • Interest in AWS services
  • Nice to have:
    • Experience with AWS services (e.g. lambda, S3)
    • Experience with Java and/or Python
    • Exposure to NoSQL data stores (e.g. Couchdb, DynamoDB, etc)
  • Bonus:
    • Experience with Snowflake Cloud Data Warehouse
    • Exposure to CI/CD for software systems
