Business Intelligence Developer (Hybrid)
The Opportunity
Investment Management is looking for an energetic individual with strong analytical skills to join the team as a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer on the Investment Reporting & Communications (IR&C) team. You will be responsible for the creating, publishing, and optimizing Investment Management's reporting and analytics, collaborating with business partners throughout the enterprise – including enterprise technology and data science.
The Team
The IR&C team is responsible for communicating the General Investment Account's strategy, asset allocation, risk exposures, and transaction activity in support of the Chief Investment Officer's report backs to the Investment Committee of the Board of Directors, rating agencies, and business units. The team is currently under-going a multi-year data and reporting modernization project and is actively looking for a data analyst who enjoys solving complex problems, understands business goals, and manages multiple priorities.
The Impact
This role is hands-on, developing and delivering highly intuitive analytical solutions optimizing the use of dashboards and visualization for investment portfolio reporting & analysis. You will be the subject matter expert for the current reporting application and new tools while applying existing knowledge, and teaching others.
Your responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:
Build and deploy highly interactive dashboards, reports, and other visualizations that are easy to understand, enable self-service, and provide secure and efficient access to data
Continuously improve and enhance the performance, capabilities, and functional coverage of analytics solutions
Partner with IR&C team to translate requirements into technical specifications
Extract and analyze data from investment repositories, third-party vendors, and external managers based on ad-hoc user requests
Create ETL and manage change control for dimensions and other report derivations
Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
Manage weekly report development meetings and communications
Manage report life cycle and promotion process using Atlassian JIRA
Track investment new field requests, data quality requests and resolution, and downstream project dependencies
The Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, CIS, Engineering, Math or related major
Minimum of 5 years BI/Analytics experience with increasing responsibilities implementing medium and large-scale projects and business intelligence solutions
At least 3 years of experience with MicroStrategy (comparable BI tools like IBM Cognos may be considered)
Experience working with complex data structures and datasets
The Ideal Qualifications
Master's degree Information Technology, Computer Science, CIS, Engineering, Math or related major
8 years BI/Analytics experience with increasing responsibilities implementing medium and large-scale projects and business intelligence solutions
6 years of experience with MicroStrategy or comparable BI tool (IBM Cognos, Tableau, etc.)
5 years Investment Management related experience
