Credit Analyst
Reporting to the A/R Manager, the Credit Analyst will support all aspects of the Americas credit management process. The Credit Analyst will be responsible for assisting to construct and implement a credit management program. He/She will be accountable for consistent adherence of the application of the credit policy, granting credit, and credit assessment of existing/potential customers.
Responsibilities
- Perform credit reviews and risk assessment of existing and new customers creditworthiness through the analysis of credit agency reports and external sources
- Assist in defining & establishing the corporate credit policy
- Establish credit limits, assign risk ratings, and approve credit requests
- Work closely with Sales and cross functional teams to support growth while mitigating credit risk.
- Escalate issues and provide summarized information with a recommendation of decision.
- Assist in the development and implementation of tools to monitor key credit metrics (Dunn & Bradstreet)
- Review orders on credit hold, evaluate the customer’s current standing and determine if the credit hold is released.
- Monitor changes in economic, industry and customer conditions, maintain communication with various internal teams to evaluate potential changes to customers' credit risk and credit limits.
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business.
- Experience with D&B
- Credit evaluations and credit metrics experience
- 3-5 years of relevant credit experience
- General understanding of financial statements (including income statement, balance sheet, financial ratios, cash flow analysis and other related financial metrics).
- Experience with development and implementation credit metric monitoring tools
- Ability to provide strategic recommendations, work on multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to communicate (both written and verbal) effectively with internal and external business partners.
